Glenwood Chess Center @1 South Rebecca Street, Tournament will be held at “the Glenwood Chess Center @1 South Rebecca Street, Glenwood Il. 60425. Open to USCF Players in 3 sections: U1250, U1650 & Open (Limited to a Maximum Capacity of 50 players) USCF Membership is required. Memberships are available at site or at www.USChess.org. Players under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. EF: $15.00, $20.00 after January 22nd.

Jan 25, 2016. On January 24, 2016, the Glenwood Chess Club hosted Chess Wars X. A total of 28 players were in attendance.
Vu Duong drove in from Indianapolis Indiana to “check out” the competition. He scored a respectable 2 out of 4 wins in the U 1250 Division.
Ron Logan won the U 1250 Division with a perfect 4-0 score. The “Great”Joseph Hooks, grabbed 2nd with 3 points on tiebreaks. Zach Warsh also with 3 points took 3rd. Megan Chen won 4th, with 3 points and 5th place with 2 points, went to James Marchert Sr.
Eric Starkman was undefeated 4-0 to take 1st in the U 1650 Division. Kelvin Montgomery scored 2nd with 3 points, only losing to Starkman. Diego Damis won 3rd with 2.5 points. The article’s writer bribed his way to a 4th place tie break win with 2 points and John Ruff took home the 5th place prize.
In the Open Division, Joe Emole took 1st place with 3 points. Richard Zhang came in 2nd with 2.5 points. Eric Luster hammered out 3rd on tiebreak, while Ryan Richardson took 4th with 2 points and Sam Henderson got the 5th place position with 1.5 points.
This tournament was a Special event because it will be submitted to Chess Life with a request for its inclusion in an upcoming issue about the Glenwood Chess Club.
